FourBlock Named to 2022 Best Nonprofits to Work For
FourBlock ranks in the top five of the top 50 best nonprofits to work for identified by The Nonprofit Times in partnership with Best Companies Group
(NEW YORK CITY) – FourBlock was recently selected as number four on the list of the 2022 50 Best Nonprofits to Work For. The Nonprofit Times, the leading national business publication for nonprofit managers, has partnered with Best Companies Group to identify nonprofit organizations where leaders have excelled in creating quality workplaces.
This survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in the nonprofit industry, benefiting the industry’s economy, workforce and businesses.
FourBlock ranked fourth out of the top 50 Best Nonprofits to Work For and was the highest rated veteran services organization on the list.
“It is an immense honor for FourBlock to be recognized as one of the top five Best Nonprofits to Work For and the highest rated veteran services organization,” said FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams. “This recognition is a true testament to the strength of our team members and the tireless work they do to help service members and military spouses make successful transitions and begin meaningful new civilian careers.”
Employees and employers participated in a battery of surveys, with results scored across eight different categories and ultimately ranking the top 50 Best Nonprofits to Work For.
FourBlock has worked on developing a culture of feedback and trust, sending out surveys, talking about what worked and what could be improved, and soliciting feedback on every class for veterans they serve. “Because we have such good trust with each other, we’re able to look at what went wrong and potentially, have an adult conversation about how to get better,” said Abrams. “It’s taken time, but I think we have a good culture about feedback and wanting to be better and serve veterans around our mission.”
Nonprofits from across the United States entered a two-part survey process to determine Best Nonprofits to Work For. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated organization’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.
The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top nonprofits and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the ranking.
