Here’s how FourBlock is helping Atlanta-area veterans as VETLANTA’s Education Pillar.
Over the last year, FourBlock and VETLANTA have worked together to improve and expand veteran career education in Atlanta and the surrounding communities.
Through Southeast Regional Director Roger Roley, FourBlock has the privilege of serving as VETLANTA’s Education Pillar — one of six pillars specifically tailored to most effectively support Atlanta’s veterans and military spouses. As its Education Pillar, FourBlock is helping foster relationships between the veteran community, local universities, and the area’s top companies.
“The FourBlock/VETLANTA partnership allows students participating in the FourBlock program to expand their new professional network and discover other opportunities in many of the top Fortune 50/100 Companies in and around the Atlanta area,” said VETLANTA VP and Co-Founder John Philips.
Roley, Philips, and VETLANTA President Lloyd Knight met while recording a radio program in 2016. Through conversation, the trio quickly realized how FourBlock and VETLANTA could work in tandem to deliver high-quality career education to veterans in Atlanta and beyond.
Today, in partnership the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia, and the Georgia VECTR Center, FourBlock and VETLANTA are providing veterans and military spouses with the career education and opportunities necessary to get hired. By working with the aforementioned collegiate organizations, we’re getting veterans through college and into internships, with the ultimate goal of helping them land full-time positions.
VETLANTA has grown exponentially since its inception three years ago. What started as meetings with a couple dozen people has evolved into summits with hundreds of attendees. As its Education Pillar, FourBlock is incredibly proud to be working alongside VETLANTA, and we look forward to continuing our partnership to better the lives of Atlanta’s veterans and military spouses.
